Camps : OverviewDevelopmental Camp:This camp includes basic overall baseball instruction in all areas except pitching and catching. Topics include hitting, bunting, fielding, base running, throwing, catching, outfield and infield play. Weather permitting; campers will be given the opportunity to participate in games to reinforce learned skills and to have fun. Infield/Outfield Camp:Instruction focused on fielding techniques and body mechanics. Campers will learn about approaching a hit ball, cutoffs, infield and outfield positioning, footwork and throwing form. Various drills to improve quickness and foot speed may also be emphasized. Hitting Camp:Instruction dedicated to improving hitting skills and knowledge of fundamental hitting techniques. Instruction will focus on correct body mechanics, stances, contact points, timing procedures, tracking pitches, correct weight transfer, bunting skills, bat speed & control and base running drills. Emphasis may also be placed on understanding the strike zone, developing concentration, strength training and situational hitting. Pitching/Catching Camp:Instruction which stresses proper mechanics, arm care & correct arm motion as well as, flexibility & conditioning, grips, pick-offs, fielding off the mound, setting up hitters, true pitching and more. Catching instruction will include stance, receiving, blocking pitches, fielding bunts, tagging runners, footwork, giving signals, handling pitchers, and catching pop-ups. Catchers must provide their own gear. Softball Summer Camp:This camp includes Softball instruction in all areas except pitching and catching. Topics include hitting, bunting, fielding, base running, throwing, catching, outfield and infield play. Weather permitting; campers will be given the opportunity to participate in games designed to reinforce learned skills and to have fun. General Information:Check in will be in the first building as you enter our campus. Drop off and pick up will take place in this same building each day. Parents must park and come in to pick up their child as we are not set up for carpool like many of the schools. Campers will not be allowed to leave camp with anyone other than the person who is supposed to pick them up. If during camp time, the pick up person changes, you must contact our camp director to inform him of such change. There will be a snack break about half way through each camp, each day. We will have drinks and snacks/candy available for purchase. Drinks are $2 and snacks are $1. Pizza slices are $2. For campers attending both sessions, lunch will be available (pizza, chips, etc...) or, you may bring your own. All campers will be supervised and it is highly recommended that you bring a book, board game, a deck of cards, or something to keep you occupied. Campers are not allowed to leave the lobby area during this period. Items you may need to consider bringing with you to camp.
